Namık Kemal's work of the "rüya" genre, a social and political commentary expressed in the form of a dream or a vision, in prose interspersed with verse. The text ends on fol. 22a, and is followed, on fol. 24b-26a, by a copy of a letter from a medical student in Istanbul to one of his relatives in Diyarbakır. The letter is in the same hand as the main text and, according to its title on fol. 24a, it was copied in Kanunusani '205 (1791) -- given that this is in the same hand as the main text (and written on the remaining sheets of the same quire and thus after it), this date either refers to some other copy from which this one was taken, or is an error for '305 (1888). The latter option would mean that the main text was copied before or in 1888.
